Hi guys, Yes, I'm a new Tony Robbins fan :) I've been following his techniques for the past month or so and to put it simply, a lot of things he says are what Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra or Norman Vincent Peale would tell you. Its how to spend this hour in the morning to control your anger. Let's ask ourselves this question. How many of us spend 15-20 minutes of day thinking how we want to live our day? But, a lot of us do spend a few minutes frettiing about what we didn't like and why that guy on the road honked at me. The only thing that has differentiated my life from what it used to be is the fact - that I spend some time everyday to control my mind and then let it control the day. And not the day control my time? At this session, we are just going to talk about anger and how these few minutes are so important to your everyday life. I am going to do it once with you......and the rest is for you to take. Hope it helps you. Navi

Hi guys, Happy Fall to all of you and summers went even before we knew it came :) If not anything, atleast there isn't much bad news about the economy... :) So, coming to our October meetup, there is one thing that we are going to talk about. Breathing..... ya ya, you've heard this before :-) and if you have been in one of my sessions, you probably have done it too. But, why are we still talking about it? Act, not react: In spite of all the talk that surrounds anger, it is about reactions. If you were angry because of what someone said or did to you, it was a reaction, not an action. There is a difference. You can choose to act - especially when you are calm. But, can you choose to react? My dad said such and such, the driver cut me off on the left lane while I had been waiting for 5 minutes, my boss is a pain etc etc.... in all these situations, we are reacting. Not acting. Why? Because, we can't think in rage.........and hence, we can't act. And we end up making the situation worse. All we had to do was breathe. I don't want to boast about it but all those people who have benefited from the group are the ones who have been taking 15 minutes from their day for themselves. Secondly, there are a number of studies that you can find that show how breathing right can de-stress and provide psychological benefits. This session will have instructions about how you can spend 15 minutes everyday and feel a change in your reactions :). Hope to see you then. Navi PS: Please contribute to cover studio rental for the session as we can't have these sessions out in the cold. Thank you!

Hi guys, For those who missed out last week, we meet this saturday. Depending on the turnout, we will meet twice a month. So, let's see if you still want to break away from your past and give yourself a chance to understand and then control anger. For people who are going to be at the meetup for the first time, just a note..... Anger management is a process. It's a habit that takes time to inculcate. If anger has affected you for years, it's not reasonable to expect results in one session. There are no magic tricks :) . Just some simple tools that we learn each month. We talk about a basic issue- anger and how it is affecting our daily lives. We understand anger a little more and how it controls us . At the end of the class, we leave with 2 techniques. You go home and practice them for 10 minutes everyday. If it works for you for 30 days, you come back and we do 2 more. Another thing that I borrow from Tony Robbins is "Do not rationalize" why you can't spare 15 minutes a day to practice these methods. Just do them for 30 days. If they don't work, don't come back. Navi PS: YES or NO. Please honor your RSVPs. Location: We'll meet at 68 street and Riverside Boulevard at 3:45pm at the entrance to park opposite the Trump place buildings. You can mapquest 180 Riverside BOULEVARD not drive. Then we will enter the park together and do our discussion in Riverside Park. (#1 train to 66 street)

Hi guys, Sorry for not setting up a meetup sooner for this month, but to tell you the truth. I face a paradox too :) About 10 people RSVPd last time and three showed up. Not to say, it wasn't worth it but if you want me to help a little, you have to show up :) So, let's see if you still want to break away from your past and give yourself a chance to understand and then control anger. Hi guys, At the last meetup, Andrea brought about a good point. How dealing with difficult people can be a challenge and can affect your anger. In this meet up, let's talk about ways where we can deal with our anger and how we can best manage people that most others find it difficult to deal with. It may be the case that some of us fall in to this category. But, we may as well do something about it rather than find ourselves being in a situation where people feel they are better off without us. For people who are going to be at the meetup for the first time- Anger management is a process. It's a habit that takes time to inculcate. Hi guys, Instead of Ripley's, we plan to meet at Riverside Park. Those who have already paid, will get reimbursed tomorrow since we are not renting a studio. Those who still want to join, we'll meet at 68 street and Riverside Boulevard at 6:45pm at the entrance to park opposite the Trump place buildings. You can mapquest 180 Riverside BOULEVARD not drive. Then we will enter the park together and do our discussion in Riverside Park. (#1 train to 66 street). If there is a problem, reach me at 201-283-2391. Navi Hi guys, This time, we talk and understand anger........ how it controls and affects our lives. What are the things we experience physiologically, how it affects our emotions and what can we do on a daily basis to control these hormones :) Beyond these, an important aspect that Len brought about at last meetup was attachment. How unknowingly we get attached to people or their actions that we ruin our moments....... driving in the city is another aspect of this attachment. Let's continue this discussion and practice one method........ Se if makes us flip out a little lesser on the road :) See you. Navi

I just got off the phone with an aunt whose daughter and her husband asked her to move out of the house in five days. Why? She forgot to unchain the door while they were out at night. They screamed and cursed her. She is single with little money and managed to find a room to move by the weekend. Two days after the argument, they cried, howled and begged her to stay. They are 26 and 28. She chooses to move out because she finally accepts she can't deal with their anger anymore. Its not the first incidence where anger affects relationships. This meetup is about understanding anger. How it overtakes emotions and how can we take a step to keep the relationships that we need, happy. Navi P.S: The $5 fee is to cover studio rental.
